Brave New World
I've never worn flip-flops or sandals. Looking down, I think my bare white feet look kinda creepy. But as the temperature here has started ratcheting up, I decided to give it a shot, another baby step (so to speak) in the process of mid-life reinvention.

...to those of you who've occasionally, or God forbid, regularly checked in on us via The Goot Blog. We could say we got really busy, but truth be told, we got really slack, then we hosted a bunch of visitors, then we sort of got out of the habit of blogging. The more we thought about jumping back in, and contemplated the groaning back-log of blog-worthy events, the more daunting it all seemed. As the recently retired professional writer in the family, I was starting to get flashbacks and night sweats.
That said, we're sufficiently tired of the nasty e-mails and phoned-in tongue lashings from our "fan base" to give it another try. So here goes... But in the words of a famous Pulitzer prize-winning author: Please, cut us some fucking slack.
